Calcium
Calcium is a mineral in the periodic table and it is the most common metal found in animals. There are many types of calcium compounds, including coral calcium and a variety of others. Calcium sources typically do not provide the mineral in its elemental state, and it comes from a variety of types of rocks. There is a long history of calcium and its usages, and it was isolate on its own in the early 1800s. Since that time, calcium has been used in the creation of materials as well as for consumption for humans. Calcium combined with phosphate forms the mineral portion of bones in humans and some other animals.
There are many foods high in calcium, including dairy products, such as milk and cheese. Other calcium rich foods include many vegetables and there are many other foods and beverages that are fortified with calcium as well. For those who do not obtain enough calcium through diet, there are many types of calcium supplements available, including liquid calcium supplements and those in pill form, such as coral calcium supreme and calcium channel blockers. A calcium deficiency should be avoided, otherwise bone density and structure can be damaged and tooth problems can occur.
It is also important, however, that too much calcium is not taken. If it is, it can result in calcium deposits in the body, which can build up and lead to kidney stones. Instead, you should know the recommended daily amount as set forth by the FDA, and always ingest this amount and no more than this. If your calcium intake is not at the right level, you should create a corrected calcium intake level to maintain the proper amount of calcium absorption within the body on a regular basis. There are always ongoing studies relating to calcium intake and how it affects health. It has been determined that a lack of proper calcium nutrition can lead to osteoporosis over time, which is the degeneration of bone mass. Other studies have shown promising results in the benefits of calcium as a prevention method as well as a supplemental treatment method for many illnesses and diseases. In these studies, the amount of calcium taken every day is usually altered and increased to a higher amount. In some studies, there have even been promising results that calcium, when taken in certain amounts, can help reduce the occurrence of cancerous colonic polyps.
